TRUST ADMINISTRATION

When a person passes away with a living trust, the trust will need to be administered but the Successor Trustee. The Successor Trustee is appointed by the original creator(s) of the living trust, and, upon the death of the original creator(s), becomes the appointed Trustee of the trust. The Trustees duties are described as follows:


  • Provide legally required notices and filings;
  • Gather and take inventory of the assets of the estate;
  • Determine and pay any outstanding debts and/or taxes of the estate
  • Distribute the assets to the named beneficiaries and according to the terms of the trust agreement.
